NASPA/Merck Grant 2009

Date:   January 9, 2009

To:       NASPA Members

From: Anna Kowblansky, R.Ph., M.S.
            Program Coordinator

I am pleased to announce the continuation of the NASPA/Merck State Pharmacy Association Grant Program.  We are grateful to Merck and Dave Miller, Director of Pharmacy Affairs, for making this grant program possible once again.  The Grant Program is designed to allow state associations to undertake significant projects of value to state associations and the profession of pharmacy which otherwise might not be accomplished.

The total grant amount is $50,000.  The maximum amount a state can receive is $15,000 for a project proposal.  I will again be administering the activities for the Grant Program.  I will work closely with the NASPA Grant Review Committee to coordinate all Grant Program activities and application queries.

Click here for guidelines for submitting your application. Please note the “Proposal Structure” section of the Program Guidelines.  Also attached is a sample list of past projects that were accepted.  I hope they will inspire you to submit applications. The application deadline is Wednesday, March 4, 2009

The Grant Review Committee will be Becky Snead, NASPA, Executive Vice President and the Executive Directors from last year’s grant recipients: Marghie Giuliano, Louise Jones, Lynn Rolston, and Tom Temple. They will review the applications and select the recipients for the 2009 grants.  The successful applicants will be announced at the NASPA meeting in April 2009 in San Antonio, TX.

Applications should be emailed to akpharm@cox.net by  March 4, 2009.

I look forward to working with you on the grant program.  If you have any questions, please call me at 805-682-5340 or email: akpharm@cox.net
